Queen's corgis get new homes, as Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson agree to adopt late monarch's beloved dogs
The Queen's beloved pets will be cared for by the late monarch's son and former daughter-in-law

The Queen's corgis are to live with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, at their shared home in Windsor, the Royal Lodge.
- The Queen's corgis will live in a home close to Windsor Castle.
- This news comes as no surprise to many as the pets were gifted to the late monarch by the Duke of York.

Animal lovers have been curious who'd care for the Queen's corgis after news that Queen Elizabeth II had died aged 96 at Balmoral Castle. Although there was never any concern for the late monarch's beloved dogs' welfare, many are relieved to know what will happen to her beloved dogs.
A spokesperson for the Duke of York has confirmed that he and his former wife; Sarah, Duchess of York; will adopt Muick and Sandy – the two dogs the Queen received as gifts. Muick, pronounced 'Mick' was given to the Queen alongside another dog, named Fergus, who tragically died from a heart condition in May 2021.
According to the Guardian, the Queen's grandchildren Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie gave Sandy to their beloved grandmother, as a birthday gift, in the months after their grandfather Prince Philip passed away.
Prince Andrew and the Duchess live in the Royal Lodge, which is a stone's throw from Windsor Castle and an area that Sandy and Muick are likely very familiar with having spent a lot of their lives there. The Queen's second eldest son grew up with corgis, so is well versed in caring for the specific breed.
In her final years, Queen Elizabeth II continued to frequent her Scottish home at Balmoral and often stayed at Sandringham House in Norfolk. However, Windsor Castle became her official residence back in March 2021. She was often spotted taking walks on the grounds with her precious corgis, who became synonymous with the late Queen.
